Anne Vickrey Evans

Anne is a fiber artist living and creating in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. She has been working in felt for more than 30 years, using mostly locally sourced wools to create distinctive coats, jackets, and vests from her handmade felted fabric.

Anne’s first connection to felt began in childhood while visiting her grandparents in Norway, where felt boots were part of everyday life. She later learned feltmaking techniques from a Danish friend, sparking a lifelong focus that led to books, videos, craft kits, teaching, and national recognition.

Her award-winning wearable art has been included in juried and invitational shows, and a collection of her work was exhibited at the Denver Art Museum during and after Spun: Adventures in Textiles. Anne’s work celebrates the warmth, texture, and sculptural beauty of handmade felt.
