Cedide is a self-taught fiber artist who combines loose wool fibers with various other fibers — such as silk, yarn and open weave fabric — into art-to-wear clothing and accessories by exploiting wool’s ability to be manipulated via friction and moisture. The dynamic and flexible nature of this ancient, primitive and labor-intensive method, called nuno felting, allows creative freedom and provides an unmatched opportunity for artistic expression.
Combined with her own unconventional and experimental approach that includes knitting, sewing, and crocheting, this intuitive medium enables her to blend deep colors, create intricate textural contrast, and sculpt three-dimensional shapes to achieve texturally rich and playful art to wear pieces.
