Kathleen Utts - Wimberley Valley Saori

Kathleen is a fiber artist and Saori weaver whose handwoven fabrics reflect color, texture, intuition, and movement. Inspired by the Japanese SAORI philosophy of self-expression and artistic freedom, she embraces imperfection and celebrates individuality in each piece she creates.

Working with a rich mix of fibers, including luxury yarns, handspun elements, and occasionally recycled textiles, Kathleen allows the weaving process to guide her. Her garments often begin on the loom and take shape on a dressmaker’s form, where the fabric reveals what it wants to become.

Through juried exhibitions, workshops, and weaving classes, Kathleen shares her passion for fiber art while encouraging others to explore their own creativity. Her work invites appreciation for the artistry of handmade textiles and the freedom found in creating with purpose and authenticity.
