Nancy is a Santa Fe weaver whose work reflects a deep appreciation for color, texture, and the artistry of handwoven cloth. Growing up in Taos, England, and South Africa, she returned to Santa Fe in 1968 and was introduced to loom weaving while attending St. John’s College.
Inspired by the simplicity and beauty of traditional Rio Grande weavings of the Southwest, Nancy developed a distinctive approach using silks, cottons, wools, custom colors, and natural dyes from the surrounding landscape. Her most recent styles are woven with rayon and cotton chenilles and are recognized for their remarkable color combinations.
Nancy is known for elegant handwoven garments as well as her luxurious “Alternative Fur” pieces, created from handspun dog fur collected from groomers and show dog owners. Her work celebrates the beauty, individuality, and craftsmanship of handmade textiles and is cherished by collectors around the world.
