Karole, Grady and their son, Henry, make up a leather studio in Albuquerque,
New Mexico.

Their work is a 'mescolanza'. A blending of Karole's Lithuanian heritage,
Venezuelan upbringing, and Northern Californian education with Grady's New
Mexico roots.

Karole’s professional background in architecture and structural engineering is
very present in their designs and is refined by Grady's narratives. Their process
is cyclical where they iterate, refine and learn from each attempt. They focus on
structured, geometric designs that tell a story about the beautiful place where
they live.

The Oropopo collections draw deeply from scientific, historical, and
environmental themes, blending function with desert literature. Every piece is
a dialogue among the designer, the wearer and the collective history of the
Southwest.
